Liza Daly, President

Threepress owner Liza Daly provides strategy and software for publishers, authors, and vendors and has a long history of successful work in both the web and publishing industries. She was the lead developer on major online products for Oxford University Press, Columbia University Press, Rosen Publishing, and O'Reilly Media. In 2008, she developed Bookworm, one of the first open source ePub readers, and in February of 2010 released Ibis Reader™, the first HTML5 ebook platform. Liza also has significant experience in interactive development for public radio and television.

Keith Fahlgren

Keith Fahlgren

Keith Fahlgren is a Publishing Technology Consultant with Threepress. He specializes in helping publishers create effective and engaging digital content and is the co-developer of the innovative ebook reader Ibis Reader. His contributions to the digital publishing ecosystem include developing the ePub output for the open-source DocBook-XSL Stylesheets and spearheading the development of OPDS Catalogs, an attempt to make web-accessible ebooks more discoverable as part of the BookServer project. Keith has spoken widely and was formerly at O'Reilly Media, where he helped design and implement many of their digital publishing workflows.

Next Generation Web Frameworks in Python

In March of 2007, O'Reilly published her ebook Next-Generation Web Frameworks in Python, which covered three development platforms in Python including Django, which powers Bookworm.

Liza is also a regular technical editor for O'Reilly and has worked on several CSS and Python books, including CSS: The Definitive Guide, Python for Linux System Administrators and SQLAlchemy.

Advocacy

Liza and Keith are active in the open source technology community and are strong advocates for experimentation, agile development, and innovation in publishing. In April of 2010, Liza was elected to the IDPF Board of Directors. Both Keith and Liza are members of various IDPF EPUB Working Groups. Liza was a member of the advisory board for the Web 2.0 Expo NYC conference in 2008 and 2009, and was also on the board for O'Reilly's digital publishing conference, Tools of Change in 2009 and 2010.

Keith developed the open-source DocBook-XSL ePub Stylesheets. Both are core members of the OPDS Catalog specification group, part of the BookServer project.

Threepress is a member of the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF).
